Privacy Policy

SNAFU Agency LLC (“SNAFU”, “we”, “us”) runs the website snafu.agency (the “Site”) and SNAFU Studio at app.snafu.agency, our client portal (the “Portal”). This policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and your choices. Questions: use our contact form.
What we collect
Information you give us. Your name, email, and company, plus what you add to the Portal or send us: files, comments, approvals, messages, bookings, e-signatures, and billing records. We do not store card numbers.
Sign in with Google. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us. We receive nothing else from your Google account, and never your password.
Instagram (social media clients only). If you connect your Instagram business or creator account, we receive your account profile and performance data, such as reach, engagement, and follower counts, through Meta’s API.
Usage data. We measure visits to the Site without cookies, using Umami, an open-source analytics tool we run on our own server, and our website platform’s built-in analytics. They record pages viewed, links clicked, the site that referred you, device type, browser, operating system, screen size, language, and approximate location (country, region, and city), without storing your IP address (see “Cookies and analytics”). When we send you a private proposal or deck link, we record when it is opened and which sections are viewed. The Portal keeps security logs, such as IP address and request times.
Business contacts. We collect business contact details from public and commercial sources to find potential clients.
How we use it
We use personal information to provide and secure the Site and Portal, run projects, communicate, invoice, improve our services, contact potential clients, and meet legal obligations.
We use Google sign-in data only to create and secure your Portal account, and Instagram data only to report on and manage your account under our contract.
We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.
Who we share it with
Service providers that help us run our business (hosting, email, e-signature, scheduling, analytics, and AI tools), only to provide their services to us.
Other people on your project in the Portal, who can see your comments and approvals.
Our professional advisers; others when the law requires it or to protect rights and safety; and a buyer in a merger or sale of our business.
We share Google sign-in data only as described here, and never sell it or use it for advertising.
Cookies and analytics
The Site does not use cookies for analytics or advertising, and it stores nothing on your device to track you. We count visits with Umami, an open-source analytics tool that we host on our own server, and with our website platform’s built-in analytics. Both work the same way: they combine your IP address and browser details with a key that changes regularly (monthly for Umami, daily for our platform) and keep only a one-way code, so they can count unique visitors in that period but cannot recognize you after the key changes. Your IP address is not stored. No third party collects information about your activity on the Site over time or across other websites. The Portal uses only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and secure, and you can block cookies in your browser settings.
We do not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals.
Retention and security
We keep personal information while we need it for the purposes above, such as while your account or project is active, or longer where the law requires (for example, tax records), then delete it. We delete Google sign-in data when your Portal account is closed.
We use encrypted connections and access controls that limit each person to their own projects. No system is perfectly secure.
Your choices
Access, correction, deletion. Use our contact form to see, correct, or delete your personal information, including Instagram data. We will do so unless we must keep it by law.
Marketing. Ask us to stop contacting you at any time.
Disconnect. Remove our access to your Google account at myaccount.google.com/permissions, or to Instagram in your Meta account settings.
EU and UK visitors. We rely on our contract with you or our legitimate interests in running, growing, and securing our business, including measuring visits to the Site. You may also restrict or object to processing, request a portable copy, and complain to your data protection authority. We process your information in the United States.
Children
Our services are for businesses, not children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We will post any update here with a new effective date, and tell Portal users about material changes by email or in the Portal.
